Yes — we repair, rebuild and fully replace docks on Lake Hickory and Lake Lookout Shoals. We handle simple board replacement and railing repair, partial deck-and-frame rebuilds on existing footings, and end-to-end dock replacements with new footings.
Pricing varies dramatically with scope. Simple board replacement and railing repair typically falls in the $1,500 to $4,000 range. Full deck-and-frame rebuilds on existing footings run $8,000 to $20,000+ depending on dock size, configuration, and material choice. We provide free written estimates within 48 hours of the on-site visit.
For most repair and rebuild work that does not change the footprint or footing locations of an existing dock, no separate permit is required beyond your existing Duke Energy shoreline permit. New dock construction or footprint changes require Duke Energy review. We walk you through the process during the on-site visit.
For dock decking specifically, we usually recommend either pressure-treated Southern Yellow Pine (most affordable, best when sealed annually) or composite from TimberTech, Trex or Fiberon (no annual maintenance, far better for the moisture exposure). For framing under the deck surface, properly rated treated lumber and stainless or hot-dipped fasteners are standard.
Most dock repair jobs finish in 2 to 5 days. Partial rebuilds run 1 to 2 weeks. Full replacements with new footings take 2 to 4 weeks, weather permitting. Lake conditions and access can affect scheduling — we factor that into the proposal.
